Basic I.T. Skills for Business Users.

Skills for Business Users.” This course could prove invaluable in minimising losses caused by computer downtime, maintenance costs, data loss, interuption to normal workflow, etc. Many of us rely on our computer for a lot more than we realise and it’s only when disaster strkes that we fully realise the necessity for regular maintenance, backups and virus protection. This course covers these basics and others and attmpts to minimise the amount of time and money spent on I.T. callouts.

The course is geared towards business users but home users will also benefit from the majority of the material. See the  curriculum page for more details.

C.M.S. course running again in January, now booking.

The successful “Setup&Run Company Website using a C.M.S.” course which made it’s debut last summer is to be run again in January. See the curriculum page for details. economic events have also caused businesses everywhere to rethink how they do things and this is where local entrepreneur Bob Murphy of RainRain Web Design is hoping to attract businesses into taking a more active role in the management of their company’s website.

“Traditionally websites were built ‘static’ so that when changes were needed it meant calling a web designer. That has changed lately with the majority of new sites being ‘content managed’ meaning that the owners can easily change the contents themselves.”

Content management system Use on Business Websites

Being able to change the contents of a business website ‘in house’ can be a major advantage depending on the area of your business. Take for example a publican. He might want to run an events list on the pub’s website, and change the food menu’s occasionally.
