Keeping it Simple
One of the most important things to keep in mind when building a website is to keep things simple. Nobody wants to be faced with lots of clutter or evidence of “Trying too hard”. Normally it’s best to itemise the things you are trying to achieve, pages you are trying to create and ideas you are trying to communicate etc. before you begin. Next start to put these in some sort of order ( at this stage you should have either downloaded a theme or built your own so you should have a good idea of the layout that will be working with ). Your pages need to be laid out in a manner which would make someone to want to read them; this means that the more content you have the longer and harder you will have to work to get it to display the way you want. There are plugins available for space saving if real estate is your problem, and if you need to build a site and have very little content to work with, dont just add a lot of filler, think quality not quantity and pay attention to layout ( text size / allignment / colour / use of images etc. ) so that the content you have works best to give the right message.
