Basic I.T. Skills for Business Users
Introduction:
This training course is aimed at typical business or home users. The material is pitched towards non technical individuals who have moderate computing skills. The course aims to demystify computer maintenance and to give the average user pointers which would reduce losses associated with computer downtime, maintenance costs, data loss and interuption to normal workflow.
Many of us rely on our computer for a lot more than we realise and it’s only when disaster strkes that we fully realise the necessity for regular maintenance, backups and virus protection. This course covers these basics and others and attmpts to minimise the amount of time and money spent on I.T. callouts. In the event that it is necessary to call in outside help then having done this course, the user should be in a far better position to communitate with an I.T. person, which should further reduce losses.
The course is primarily geared towards business users however most of the material will be relevant to home users so it is more than suitable for any home user who wishes to attend.
The course will centre around the Windows XP operating system and attendees must bring along a laptop and an external storage device such as an external hard drive or memory stick. Windows Vista is very similar to Windows XP and so Vista users ( or Windows 7 users) will also get proper attention. This course does not cover Apple or Linux Computers.
